Überblume | Marienplatzfest

The installation 'Überblume' was a set of 20 artificial flowers, which served as shadow casters at daytime and as artificial suns at night. Their translucent blossom was sprayed with different colours, which revealed a variety of gradients depending on the perspective of the spectator. Because of their flexible straw they waved in the wind and softened the rigid atmosphere of the surrounding architecture. At night, 3 projectors illuminated the blossoms, highlighting the complex three dimensional structure of the mesh.
