Fridas Pier | Stuttgart

Fridas Pier is an event location in an old coal cargo ship. We were asked to design a light installation for its main floor which could be used for events and clubbing. Together with Simon Wallenda we derived a design concept paying tribute to the locations history and that allows a playful interaction of audiovisual effects and the location. 64 custom made 3D printed fixtures, 4 moving heads, 8 spot lights, fog and haze can be controlled by a simple web interface using a tablet or via video mapping. An autonomous mode allows detection of the songs bpm, breaks or drops in 5 different intensity styles.
